This program is designed to provide practical experience for the CEHRS to specialize in varying areas or one aspect of the EHR such as entry level coders, encoding within a hospital setting, abstractors and or coding specialist, HIPAA Compliance Officers or HIM (Health Information Managers). Participants will learn to assemble patient's health information, enter data such as demographic characteristics, history and extent of disease, input diagnostic procedures and treatment into computer as well as statistical and data analysis, compile census data, record retention and record indexes--all electronically.

Upon course completion students will be able to test for national certification from National Healthcareers Association (NHA) to receive their CEHRS certification. National Certification, $3,000, includes book and testing.

 

     5 week course, 8:30 - 1:30  Monday - Friday.
