History of CTC

Center for Training & Careers, Inc. (CTC/WorkNET) is a community based, non-profit, public benefit corporation, which has successfully provided vocational training and job placement assistance to San Jose and Santa Clara County residents since 1977. CTC was established to develop and enhance employment opportunities and job placement for the educationally and economically disadvantaged in the regional community. In 1977, CTC opened its doors at 1600 Las Plumas Avenue. In August 2009, CTC opened its doors at 749 Story Road, Suite 10 making a successful transistion into their own building.

Throughout the last decade, CTC/WorkNET has continuously expanded program services in response to the needs of the community. Approximately 650 people per day utilize services provided by CTC/WorkNET.

Every year, CTC successfully trains and places hundreds of highly productive employees throughout the Bay Area. Our successful training and placement is the direct result of involving business leaders in the development of CTC training programs. CTC also works individually with clients to design programs that prepare trainees for specific positions within their company. By working so closely with industry, we are able to design state-of-the-art, hands-on training environments that enable our newly hired graduates to make swift and measurable contributions.
